⚠️ Important: DCENT App Wallet Security Notice
For anyone using a DCENT App Wallet (Software wallet) — if you haven't moved your assets yet, move them to a new wallet now.
DCENT has confirmed cases of unauthorized transfers out of the App Wallet (Software wallet) — the software wallet you create inside the app.
If you have assets in a DCENT App Wallet (Software wallet), move them to a new wallet now.
SECTION 1 - Check if you have an App Wallet (Software wallet)
In the DCENT app, go to: My Wallet → wallet selector, top left → Manage All Wallets
If the 'App wallet' section shows nothing but an "Add App Wallet" button, no App Wallet (Software wallet) was ever created on that phone.
If the 'App wallet' section lists a wallet name, there's an App Wallet (Software wallet) to check — tap 'Check if affected' on the Home screen.
If the wallet selector at the top left of the Home screen currently says 'App Wallet', you are currently using an App Wallet (Software Wallet).
SECTION 2 - If you have an App Wallet, move your assets:
1. Update the DCENT app to the latest version (v10.0.0 or later)
2. Tap 'Check if affected' on the app's Home screen
3. Send your assets to a wallet created from a NEW recovery phrase, or to a trusted exchange — don't "recover" the App Wallet (Software wallet) phrase into another wallet
IMPORTANT: It's a transfer, not a recovery. Typing an App Wallet (Software wallet) recovery phrase into a hardware wallet carries the exposure straight over. The assets need to go to a wallet created from a brand-new recovery phrase, or to a trusted exchange.
SECTION 3 - What if you've only ever used a hardware wallet?
If you've only ever used a hardware wallet and have never entered its recovery phrase into the DCENT app, there is no action required based on this issue.
Using a hardware wallet with the DCENT app does not automatically mean you have an App Wallet.
For example, pairing a Biometric Wallet, DCENT S or DCENT X over Bluetooth or NFC and checking your balance in the app is not an App Wallet (Software wallet). The app is only reading and displaying the device's addresses — the recovery phrase never touches the phone.
However, if you have ever entered your hardware wallet's recovery phrase into an App Wallet (Software Wallet), you should move the assets to a wallet created from a new recovery phrase.
